Tasks to be performed by the Holocaust Memorial Servant
The Center's work is very project oriented and the work of the Gedenkdienst interns is varied. Projects cover a wide range of academic activities and community outreach:

Preparation of exhibits on the Holocaust from the Center's archives in conjunction with the director, board members, staff, and volunteers. Interns also work on online-versions of there exhibits.
Selection and development of materials, and lessons plans for the ongoing peace curriculum project. This curriculum, for children ages 10-15, teaches peace consciousness, tolerance, and conflict resolution skills through literature and the arts.
Organization of community events such as a concert with music that was banned by the Nazis, jewish liturgical music, and music that was performed in the Theresienstadt camp.
Development of and participation in a video documentary. This video is a follow-up to an award-winning documentary on five Holocaust survivors and liberators of concentration camps who live in Nevada.
Production of CenterNews, bulletin.
Maintenance of the Center's Web page.
Once they become familiar with the Center's activities, interns will do public relations work such as greeting visitors and speaking to campus and community groups. The interns will talk about Gedenkdienst and their personal reasons for choosing to serve at a Holocaust institution.
